"St. Joseph wasn’t just where we learned to read, write, and say our prayers — it was where our roots were planted. We didn’t just grow up with our classmates; we grew up with their brothers and sisters, saw their moms volunteering in the cafeteria, library and classroom, and sat beside their families at Sunday Mass. From the school plays to the spaghetti dinners, it felt like everyone knew everyone. St. Joseph was more than a school. It was where our families became intertwined, and those early bonds still hold strong today. We are truly blessed that our parents chose the Catholic schools in Wilmette. "As I reflect on my One Plan pledge, one of the main reasons I am excited to contribute is because of the incredible teachers and the sacrifice of their time to foster the next generation, in both a great education and strong values. A great example of this is Mrs. McGivern, who I think of often as the one who instilled in me a love of learning and reading. Another is Mr. Van, who I would always get so excited running into at my little brother's events, as he kickstarted a love for science that carried me through to an engineering degree. That, combined with the Catholic virtues Father Sheridan and Father Peter (the latter of whom is still teaching me at St. Clement each Sunday!) emphasized, such as the importance of using what I learned to give back to those around me. After having seen a detailed view of the One Plan, I am so excited to see it become a reality! It has an amazing potential to help the community — not only the students, but everyone who lives in the neighborhood. I feel honored to be a part of it."
