Jr. Kindergarten students stretch and grow as they acquire the skills they’ll need to be successful in Kindergarten. Students enjoy structured learning through stimulating classroom themes, projects and centers. Teachers emphasize budding independence and carefully cultivate executive functioning skills. Jr Kindergarten also expands on early literacy skills and phonics while focusing particular attention on fine motor skill development, including handwriting. Early math skills are expanded through hands-on manipulatives and social and emotional development blossoms through friendly group play and healthy problem solving.
The Jr. Kindergarten program allows families to build tailored schedules that work best for them, beginning with daily morning sessions from 8:15–11:30 a.m. Choose from 4-5 days per week. 3 year old preschool and Jr. Kindergarten students enjoy lunch and recess with their classmates during an optional Lunch Bunch sequence offered on an a la carte basis, up to five afternoons per week from 11:30 a.m.–12:45 p.m. Students are welcome to leave after Lunch Bunch, or may continue with Enrichment through 3:00 p.m. Enrichment consists of rest time, snack, and play.
